MacBook Air vs MacBook Pro: which should you buy?
The Pro is not automatically the smarter purchase. The key question is whether your real workload can repeatedly use its extra headroom.

Air is usually the value choice for browsing, office work, study, communication and lighter creative work. Pro becomes easier to justify for sustained demanding workflows where performance, display capabilities, ports or higher configurations save meaningful time.
Pay for used performance
List the demanding tasks you perform every week. If the answer is rarely or never, paying a large premium for unused headroom weakens value. If the laptop is a revenue-producing tool and faster work compounds over years, the calculation changes.
Ownership matters
A machine kept four or five years spreads its purchase premium across far more days than one replaced quickly. Include memory and storage configuration in the comparison because those choices can materially change the final price.
